Fiber fusion splicing: from preparation to protection
The fusion splicer joins prepared fibers; the job also includes protecting and organizing the joint.

What the image shows
The machine's holders, display and heater are shown. The infographic outlines preparation, cleaving, alignment, fusion and protection.
Preparation shapes the result
Splicing depends on properly prepared fibers and a procedure compatible with the equipment. Fusion does not automatically fix contamination, poor cleaves or placement problems.
After joining the fibers
Position and process the protector according to its instructions, then place the splice in its designated holder. The display provides process guidance; agreed link tests determine acceptance.
