Fiber routing: pathways, supports and bends

The cable pathway is part of network design, from the building entrance to the rack.

What the image shows

A yellow cable runs along supports with a broad bend before entering the equipment area. The infographic highlights the wall transition, fastening and route organization.

Bend radius is not one universal number

Do not treat the illustrated number as a specification for every cable. Limits depend on cable construction and can differ during pulling under tension and after installation. The manufacturer's data sheet is the reference.

Plan before pulling

Identify obstacles, direction changes and support points before installation. An accessible, organized route supports future expansion and avoids improvised bends or ties that compress the cable.
